Moe Thomas, Solo Exhibition

May-June, 2012

Curated by Anja Ulfeldt

A solo exhibition featuring the unruly sculptural works of Moe Thomas as he invites us on an emotionally potent investigation into personal and collective memory surrounding issues of comfort, identity and loss.

"The intention of my work is to create beauty by re-assembling materials and objects that have been torn, away from one another, and bring them to together. They are memories, feelings and musings mined from the interzone, thus, into my past, relative present and hopes for the future. I don’t intend my pieces to always contain a clear message for the viewer, rather they desire to illicit an emotional response, and hopefully say… what they might not have seen visually. I am a firm believer in the process and the result being mutually exclusive, this allows for unexpected outcomes and the lack of perfection in craft -Moe Thomas
